In the autumn of this year the University of Pisa, during the Master’s Degree Course in “Design and Management of Urban Green and Landscape<\/strong>” (https:\/\/www.agr.unipi.it\/il-corso-di- study-in-breve-2\/<\/a><\/span>), organized a study trip to Paris very well.<\/p>\n
The setting saw a first part of preparation of the students at home and an itinerant one on site. This type of travel is frequent for this course.<\/p>\n
Also in previous years the school organized trips to London, Barcelona and other wonderful European cities in the same way.<\/p>\n

The course serves to acquire the skills necessary to become a real ‘manager’ of urban greenery and allows you to be able to enroll in the exam for enrollment in the register of agronomists.<\/p>\n
The carrying out of professional activities (both managerial and operational) and participation in refresher courses remain fundamental pillars, together with the active confrontation with professionals in the sector \u2013 such as managers of the public parks of various Italian municipalities \u2013 enrolled in the course.<\/p>\n

An Agronomist in Paris doing the tour: How many parks are there in Paris?<\/h2>\n
We said that this year the destination was Paris which boasts many public parks (22 of the most important ones according to https:\/\/it.map-of-paris.com\/parchi—giardini-mappe\/parigi-giardini-mappa<\/a><\/span>) and an – it seems to us – excellent organization in managing them.<\/p>\n
\nThe class was divided into groups and everyone prepared a park so that they could then explain it to their classmates during the visit.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Furthermore, a meeting was organized with the “Direction des espaces verts et de l’environnement” office of the municipality of Paris in which the setting up of maintenance and the future objectives of the municipality was explained.<\/p>\n

Meeting with the Paris Public Green Directorate: How are parks and gardens managed in Paris?<\/h2>\n
The journey starts precisely from this meeting which an Agronomist in Paris – Mr. Volonterio – speaks to us about directly:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was a great pleasure to have the opportunity to meet the leaders at the Mairie de Paris of the management of public parks and the environment.
The topics of the meeting were mainly the new redevelopment interventions of public spaces and the challenges to be faced with regards to the theme of climate change. The increase in services linked to soft mobility and the new solutions adopted at the “urban planning” level have certainly been of great inspiration and I was struck by the fact that in France the agronomist is considered on a par with an engineer.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\nThe information he has been given is, for example, that the municipality has 2 public nurseries, hundreds of hired gardeners – 33 for Parc Citroen alone – who look after the green spaces. They argue that having these staff under public contracts facilitates training, even if they admit that it is difficult to find gardeners.<\/p>\n
For example, the management of the Parc Citroen is 80% done with staff from the municipality and the plants they use for replanting are 50% indigenous and 50% Mediterranean.<\/p>\n

Parks and Gardens in Paris: What are the Jardins Partag\u00e9r?<\/h2>\n
In Paris public spaces are granted to citizens and are called Jardins Partag\u00e9s and have the characteristic of being maintainable by anyone, often inhabitants of the neighborhood who put their hand to the abandoned green space and fix it up. Even with them we are in that phase in which the piece of land given in concession is seen more for production than for embellishment, therefore we dedicate ourselves more to the vegetable garden than to the flowerbed to look at. The importance of being surrounded by beauty to make the world better is still greatly underestimated. As in all things you need to gain experience, but if you ever start you never acquire it.<\/p>\n
\nSurely one day soon citizens will be able, both in terms of desire and ability, to maintain or lend a hand in managing green spaces, even just to look at.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

To prepare for this trip, Mr. Volonterio dedicated several days to observing the green works of Paris, starting from the historic gardens of Versailles, Luxembourg and Bois de Boulogne, up to urban redevelopment interventions such as Parc de la Villette , Viaduc des Arts, Parc Citroen and Jardin du musee du Quai Branly (just to name a few), deepening in particular the style of Gilles Cl\u00e9ment’s ‘planetary garden’, a source of great inspiration.<\/p>\n

Nell\u2019autunno di quest\u2019anno l\u2019Universit\u00e0 di Pisa, durante il Corso di Laurea Magistrale di \"Progettazione e Gestione del Verde Urbano e del Paesaggio\"<\/strong> (https:\/\/www.agr.unipi.it\/il-corso-di-studio-in-breve-2\/<\/a><\/span>), ha molto ben organizzato un viaggio di studio a Parigi.<\/p>\r\n
L\u2019impostazione ha visto una prima parte di preparazione degli studenti a casa ed una itinerante sul luogo. Questo tipo di viaggi sono frequenti per questo corso.<\/p>\r\n
Anche negli anni precedenti la scuola ha organizzato nello stesso modo viaggi a Londra, Barcellona ed altre meravigliose citt\u00e0 europee.<\/p>\r\n

Il corso serve ad acquisire le competenze necessarie a divenire un vero e proprio 'manager' del verde urbano e permette di potersi iscrivere all\u2019esame per l\u2019iscrizione all\u2019albo degli Agronomi.<\/p>\r\n
Restano piloni fondamentali lo svolgimento di attivit\u00e0 professionali (sia gestionali che operative) e la partecipazione a corsi di aggiornamento, insieme all'attivo confronto con professionisti del settore \u2013 come responsabili del verde pubblico di vari comuni italiani \u2013 iscritti al corso.<\/p>\r\n

Un Agronomo a Parigi a fare il tour: Quanti parchi ci sono a Parigi?<\/h2>\r\n
Dicevamo che quest\u2019anno la meta \u00e8 stata Parigi che vanta moltissimi parchi pubblici (22 quelli pi\u00f9 importanti secondo https:\/\/it.map-of-paris.com\/parchi---giardini-mappe\/parigi-giardini-mappa<\/a><\/span>) ed una - ci sembra - eccellente organizzazione nel gestirli.<\/p>\r\n
\r\nLa classe \u00e8 stata divisa in gruppi ed ognuno ha preparato un parco in modo da poterlo spiegare poi ai compagni in fase di visita.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
Inoltre \u00e8 stato organizzato un incontro con l\u2019ufficio \u201cDirection des espaces verts et de l\u2019environnement\u201d del comune di Parigi nel quale \u00e8 stata spiegata l\u2019impostazione della manutenzione ed i futuri obbiettivi del comune.<\/p>\r\n

Incontro con la Direzione Verde Pubblico di Parigi: come vengono gestiti parchi e giardini a Parigi?<\/h2>\r\n
Il viaggio parte proprio da questo incontro di cui ci parla direttamente un Agronomo a Parigi - il Sig. Volonterio:<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\u201c\u00c8 stato un grande piacere avere l'opportunit\u00e0 di incontrare i responsabili alla Mairie de Paris della direzione del verde pubblico e dell'ambiente.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
Gli argomenti dell'incontro sono stati principalmente i nuovi interventi di riqualificazione degli spazi pubblici e le sfide da affrontare in merito al tema del cambiamento climatico. L'incremento dei servizi legati alla mobilit\u00e0 dolce e le nuove soluzioni adottate a livello \"urbanistico\" sono stati senz'altro di grande ispirazione e mi ha colpito che in Francia l\u2019Agronomo venga considerato al pari di un Ingegnere.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\nLe informazioni che gli sono state date sono ad esempio che il comune ha 2 vivai pubblici, centinaia di giardinieri assunti\u00a0 - 33 solo per Parc Citroen - che si occupano degli spazi verdi. Sostengono che avere questo personale sotto contratto pubblico agevola la formazione, anche se ammettono che si fa fatica a trovare giardinieri.<\/p>\r\n
Per esempio, la gestione del Parc Citroen \u00e8 fatta all\u201980% con personale del comune e le piante che utilizzano per i reimpianti sono 50% autoctone e 50% mediterranee.<\/p>\r\n

Parchi e Giardini a Parigi: Cosa sono i Jardins Partag\u00e9r?<\/h2>\r\n
A Parigi si danno in concessione spazi pubblici ai cittadini e vengono chiamati Jardins Partag\u00e9s ed hanno la caratteristica di essere manutenibili da chiunque, spesso abitanti del quartiere che mettono mano allo spazio verde abbandonato e lo sistemano. Anche da loro siamo in quella fase in cui il pezzo di terreno dato in concessione viene visto pi\u00f9 per produzione che per abbellimento, quindi ci si dedica pi\u00f9 all'orto che all'aiuola da guardare. Si sottovaluta ancora molto l'importanza dell'essere circondati dalla bellezza per rendere migliore il mondo. Come in tutte le cose bisogna fare esperienza, ma se mai si comincia mai si acquisisce.<\/p>\r\n
\r\nSicuramente un giorno non lontano i cittadini saranno in grado, sia come voglia, sia come capacit\u00e0, di manutenere o dare una mano a gestire spazi verdi anche solo da guardare.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

Per prepararsi a questo viaggio, il Sig. \u201cGrazie al finanziamento dei progetti speciali per la didattica dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 di Pisa siamo riusciti anche lo scorso autunno ad organizzare un \u201cGarden technical tour\u201d di sette giorni che ha consentito ai nostri studenti, ma anche a me e al mio collega Fontanelli, di vivere un\u2019esperienza unica a contatto con parchi e giardini storici di Parigi.
