At the Bergamo Botanical Garden this year they have invented a way to involve children in learning techniques for searching for information on nature.<\/p>\n
How did they organize themselves? They took a photo of an Otzi-type mummy, in short dead for hundreds of years and preserved in a natural way in a peat bog \u2013 which, having a very acidic pH, did not allow bacteria and enzymes to consume it \u2013 and showed it to the kids together with a story concocted to simulate a crime.<\/p>\n

They then fielded Palynologists (experts in pollination), Pedologists (experts in the soil) and Dendrochronologists (experts in dating based on the counting of tree rings) who set up a research on pollen to find the flowering period, study of the soil for the determination of the ph and leading the boys to understand who could and who could not have committed the crime.<\/p>\n

The Botanical Garden of Bergamo, the one in Upper Bergamo, was born in 1972, is a museum recognized by the Lombardy Region and is part of the system of civic museums of the Municipality of Bergamo<\/a><\/span>. It can only be reached on foot, covers an area of \u200b\u200babout 3000 square meters and is divided into thematic flowerbeds. For several years it has devoted great space to alpine species but, also given climate change, today it can also develop on other fronts.<\/p>\n
The botanical garden is open from 1 March to 31 October and the visit is free. On their site you will find the AUDIOGUIDES divided into convenient online tracks. Upon entering you will also notice the “Polveriera”, an integral part of the defensive system of the Venetian walls, a Unesco World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n

Composition of the Botanical Garden: The Astino section “The Valley of Biodiversity”<\/h3>\n
It was inaagurated in 2015 on the occasion of Milan Expo. If you want to take a walk around the Astino Monastery, you will come across this section which is part of the wider recovery project of the Astino Valley, which involved the ancient Vallombrosan Monastery and the whole surrounding area.<\/p>\n
The Valle della Biodiversit\u00e0 is an open-air museum that occupies an area of \u200b\u200b3 hectares, of which approximately 9,000 m2 are dedicated to the cultivation of over 1,000 varieties of horticultural and fruit-bearing plants.<\/p>\n

Living Botanical Collections present in the Garden<\/h3>\n
The characteristic of a botanical garden is the underground presence of different species revealed by a tag that specifies their name and origin.<\/p>\n
Thematic flowerbeds are largely dedicated to native flora, but also host species from a wide range of Mediterranean, Asian, American, African and Australian geographic regions and groups of various ecological significance (such as insectivorous, tropical, ) and anthropic (medicinal, food, ornamental) and the greenhouse dedicated to succulents.<\/p>\n
In the Valle delle Biodiversit\u00e0 di Astino, on the other hand, we find about 200 species of food plants, with over 1000 crop varieties to educate about sustainability and help harmonize the relationship between Man – Agriculture – Nature starting from the local context.<\/p>\n

The Bergamo Botanical Garden was asked to promote among citizens organic cultivation practices of both ornamental and horticultural plants, in order to create a city mosaic of biodiverse green areas, usable in their free time by residents and tourists and this, together with the work of Arketipos<\/a><\/span>, mondodelgiardino.com and other associations and organizations, we hope it will contribute to developing the sense of belonging to a territory seen starting from one’s own private garden, opening towards the territory all around and beyond.<\/p>\n

The Botanical Garden annually organizes exhibitions, guided tours, workshops for girls, boys and adults, conversations and conferences, in addition to refresher courses, other educational activities and cultural events that support the study and conservation actions of the natural plant heritage and of threatened ecosystems and carries out projects for the reintroduction of endangered species into the wild.<\/p>\n

Monthly calendar of events organized by the Botanical Garden: April 2023<\/h3>\n

All\u2019Orto Botanico di Bergamo si sono inventati quest\u2019anno un modo per coinvolgere i ragazzi nell\u2019apprendimento di tecniche di ricerca di informazioni sulla natura.<\/p>\r\n
Come si sono organizzati? Hanno preso una foto di una mummia tipo Otzi, insomma morta da centinaia di anni e conservata in modo naturale in una torbiera \u2013 che avendo un ph molto acido non ha permesso a batteri ed enzimi di consumarla \u2013 e l\u2019hanno mostrata ai ragazzi insieme ad una storia congegnata per simulare un delitto.<\/p>\r\n

Delitto nell'Orto Botanico: Il Team coinvolto<\/h2>\r\n
Hanno poi messo in campo Palinologi (esperti di impollinazione), Pedologi (esperti del suolo) e Dendrocronologi (esperti di datazione basato sul conteggio degli anelli dell\u2019albero) che hanno impostato una ricerca su pollini per la ricerca del periodo di fioritura, di studio del suolo per la determinazione del ph e portando i ragazzi a capire chi poteva e chi non poteva aver commesso il delitto.<\/p>\r\n
\r\nQuesta iniziativa ha molteplici valenze positive che riguardano lo stimolo cognitivo, il lavoro di gruppo e la coltivazione della curiosit\u00e0, valori tanto utili ai giovani per affrontare la vita.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
Non ultimo il valore del lavorare all\u2019aperto che abbiamo un po\u2019 perso anche noi adulti con la pandemia e lo smart working.<\/p>\r\n

L\u2019Orto Botanico di Bergamo, quello in Bergamo Alta, nasce nel 1972, \u00e8 un museo riconosciuto dalla\u00a0Regione\u00a0Lombardia e fa parte del sistema dei\u00a0Musei civici del Comune di Bergamo<\/a>.<\/span> Il suo funzionamento \u00e8 disciplinato da un\u00a0regolamento<\/a><\/span>\u00a0del Consiglio Comunale varato nel 2004.<\/p>\r\n

Si raggiunge solo a piedi, copre un\u2019area di circa 3000 mq ed \u00e8 suddivisa in aiuole tematiche. Per diversi anni ha dedicato grande spazio alle specie alpine ma, visto anche il cambiamento climatico, oggi pu\u00f2 svilupparsi anche su altri fronti.<\/p>\r\n
L\u2019orto botanico \u00e8 aperto dal 1\u00b0 marzo al 31 ottobre e la visita \u00e8 gratuita. Nel loro sito trovate le AUDIOGUIDE divise in comode tracce online. Composizione dell'Orto Botanico: La sezione di Astino \"La Valle delle Biodiversit\u00e0\"<\/h3>\r\n
Viene inaugurata nel 2015 in occasione di Milano Expo. Se volete fare una passeggiata intorno al Monastero di Astino incontrerete questa sezione inserita nel pi\u00f9 ampio progetto di recupero della Valle di Astino, che ha coinvolto l\u2019antico Monastero Vallombrosano e tutta l\u2019area circostante.<\/p>\r\n
La Valle della Biodiversit\u00e0 \u00e8 un museo all\u2019aperto che occupa una superficie di 3 ettari di cui in 9000 m2 circa dedicati alla coltivazione di oltre 1000 variet\u00e0 di piante orticole e fruttifere.<\/p>\r\n
Anche questa visita \u00e8 gratuita con le stesse tempistiche della sezione di Bergamo Alta.<\/p>\r\n

Nel 2005 l\u2019Orto Botanico ha acquisito questa bellissima sala situata fra la Piazza Cittadella ed il parco \u201cLa Crotta\u201d. Collezioni Botaniche viventi presenti nell'Orto<\/h3>\r\n
La caratteristica di un orto botanico \u00e8 la presenza interrata di specie diverse rivelate da un cartellino che ne specifica nome e provenienza.<\/p>\r\n
Le aiuole tematiche sono in larga misura dedicate alla flora autoctona, ma ospitano anche specie provenienti da una vasta gamma di regioni geografiche mediterranee, asiatiche, americane, africane e australiane e gruppi di vario significato ecologico (come le specie insettivore, le tropicali, le graminacee) e antropico (officinali, alimentari, ornamentali) e la serra dedicata alle succulente.<\/p>\r\n
Nella Valle delle Biodiversit\u00e0 di Astino invece troviamo circa 200 specie di piante alimentari, con oltre 1000 variet\u00e0 colturali per educare alla sostenibilit\u00e0 e contribuire ad armonizzare il rapporto Uomo \u2013 Agricoltura \u2013 Natura a partire dal contesto locale.<\/p>\r\n

Le Collezioni Botaniche Museali in esposizione all'Orto<\/h3>\r\n
Sono presenti all\u2019Orto Botanico anche collezioni utili allo studio come L\u2019erbario, l\u2019Hortus Pictus Bergomensis<\/u>, la collezione Micologica<\/u>, la Collezione Pomologica e i Modelli Botanici <\/u>tutte collezioni realizzate con diversi materiali quali cartapesta, cera, legno, gesso, cartone e tutte per finalit\u00e0 didattiche.<\/p>\r\n
