Cut the grass of a garden lawn<\/h2>\n

You will often find written that mowing the lawn is good for the lawn\u2026 let’s not talk nonsense! The lawn would live very well without our intervention.<\/p>\n

Mowing the lawn is good for us and satisfies our need for a uniform, dense, comfortable and healthy lawn for walking and lying on it.<\/p>\n

After all, we have every right to enjoy a wonderful, perfect lawn<\/a><\/span> by following a few tricks.<\/p>\n

Among the jobs in the garden, cutting the grass is one of the simplest, although tiring. Push a more or less performing machine and get the lawn all the same high. Right.<\/p>\n

But then we notice that the lawn has yellow spots, empty areas, many weeds and we wonder where we went wrong.<\/p>\n

The reasons are that you have to cut often and little.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to cut the grass 1<\/strong><\/h1>\n

When, how much and how to cut the grass<\/h2>\n

The lawn is not cut in winter, once a week in spring and autumn and once every 15 days in August.<\/p>\n

The grass must have been cut at a height between 3 and 7 cm.<\/p>\n

\n

I recommend that you clean the tools you used to cut the grass thoroughly when you are done.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Use the robot if you are always away from home.<\/p>\n

Why mow the lawn<\/h2>\n

Mowing the lawn thickens the plants which spreading in roots and partly aerial takes up more space on the ground and makes it difficult for weeds to grow.<\/p>\n

A ROTARY type machine will be fine for obtaining a lawn over 3 cm. The height of an ornamental garden lawn ranges from 3 to 7 cm.<\/p>\n

When, how and how much to mow a freshly sown lawn<\/h2>\n

This type of lawn has different needs from the existing one because the plants are fragile and must be stressed as little as possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In fact, the lawn gets stressed when we cut it. Like it or not we cause a wound to the plants and we must be aware of it. At least this wound is as minor as possible.<\/p>\n

The rule therefore is that no more than 30% of the height of the blade of grass should be removed<\/strong> otherwise the plant consumes the reserve substances to survive without being able to produce new energy through photosynthesis (because it lacks a green surface) making the plant become yellow (scalping phenomenon).<\/p>\n

In the case of the newly sown lawn it is necessary wait until the height of the blades of grass has reached at least 10 cm before cutting<\/strong>, but first it must be fertilized (we are in spring or autumn – see the article “The perfect lawn: How do you go about having a beautiful lawn?<\/a><\/span>\u201d) and wait a week.<\/p>\n

Stop irrigation 3 days before cutting<\/strong> and do not cut more than 1\/3 as already mentioned above. If you want to reach a lawn height of 5 cm, for example, you will cut 1\/3 every 10-15 days so as to reach the desired height for the summer.<\/p>\n

\n

For the sake of transparency, I inform you that the more you want a low lawn, the more you will have to mow it. To give a reference size: a 4 cm lawn requires 30 cuts a year.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I also want to point out that a higher lawn – 10 cm – will better preserve the soil moisture: useful information in warmer areas.<\/p>\n

Mowing a freshly sown lawn: what to avoid and what to pay attention to<\/h2>\n

To end the discussion on the new lawn, I must inform you that mulching is not done.<\/p>\n

\n

But what is mulching?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It is the type of cut that leaves the residues of the cut grass on the ground.<\/p>\n

In practice, if you have a mower with a collection tank, you are not mulching. This type of cut, however, is fine if the residual grass is chopped very small and released on the ground in a distributed way. The residues will act as fertilizer.<\/p>\n

However, when you see the piles of residual grass on the lawns this is not a good result and must be removed with the rake – or with a special scarifier. In fact, these piles, after the rain, create areas of water stagnation that can make the underlying grass sick, suffocate or drown (felt effect).<\/p>\n

To avoid the felt effect, it is also good to cut the grass frequently.<\/p>\n

Tips and tricks for ‘how to cut the grass 1’<\/h2>\n

In a perfect world I would also like to point out the best times to mow the lawn and I hope not to generate insults or deep feelings of guilt for what I have already written.<\/p>\n

It would be better to avoid the hottest hours so as not to stress the plants more than they already are due to the heat.<\/p>\n

In the evening it is recommended more on the internet and I find myself supporting this suggestion especially if we have set up irrigation at night.<\/p>\n

Come si taglia l\u2019erba di un prato di giardino?<\/h2>\r\n

Troverete spesso scritto che tagliare il prato fa bene al prato\u2026non diciamo sciocchezze! Il prato vivrebbe benissimo senza il nostro intervento.<\/p>\r\n

Tagliare il prato fa bene a noi e soddisfa il nostro bisogno di avere un prato uniforme, fitto, comodo e sano per camminarci e sdraiarcisi sopra.<\/p>\r\n

Del resto abbiamo tutto il diritto di goderci un meraviglioso prato perfetto<\/a><\/span> seguendo qualche accorgimento.<\/p>\r\n

Tra i lavori in giardino tagliare l\u2019erba \u00e8 uno dei pi\u00f9 semplici, bench\u00e9 stancante. Spingi una macchina pi\u00f9 o meno performante ed ottieni il prato tutto alto uguale. Vero.<\/p>\r\n

Poi per\u00f2 notiamo che il prato ha delle macchie gialle, delle zone vuote, molte infestanti e ci chiediamo dove abbiamo sbagliato.<\/p>\r\n

I motivi sono che si deve tagliare spesso e poco.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Quando e quanto tagliare il prato<\/h2>\r\n

In inverno non si taglia il prato, in Primavera e autunno una volta alla settimana ed in agosto una ogni 15 giorni.<\/p>\r\n

Il prato deve avere tagliato ad un\u2019altezza tra i 3 ed i 7 cm.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

Mi raccomando, pulite bene gli attrezzi che avete utilizzato per tagliare l'erba quando avete finito.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

Usate il robot se siete sempre fuori casa.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Perch\u00e9 tagliare il prato<\/h2>\r\n

Tagliare il prato infoltisce le piante che allargandosi in radici e in parte aerea occupa pi\u00f9 spazio sul terreno e rende difficile la crescita delle infestanti.<\/p>\r\n

Una macchina di tipo ROTATIVO andr\u00e0 benissimo per l\u2019ottenimento di un prato sopra i 3 cm. L\u2019altezza di un prato di giardino ornamentale va dai 3 ai 7 cm.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Come, quanto e quando tagliare l'erba di un prato appena seminato<\/h2>\r\n

Questo tipo di prato ha necessit\u00e0 diverse da quello gi\u00e0 esistente perch\u00e9 le piantine sono fragili e vanno stressate il meno possibile.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Il prato infatti si stressa quando lo tagliamo. Volenti o nolenti provochiamo una ferita alle piante e dobbiamo esserne consci. Almeno che questa ferita sia la minore possibile.<\/p>\r\n

La regola quindi \u00e8 che non si deve asportare pi\u00f9 del 30% dell\u2019altezza del filo d\u2019erba<\/strong> altrimenti la pianta consuma le sostanze di riserva per sopravvivere senza poter produrre nuova energia tramite la fotosintesi (perch\u00e9 le manca superficie verde) facendo diventare la pianta gialla (fenomeno dello scalping).<\/p>\r\n

Nel caso del prato appena seminato bisogna attendere che l\u2019altezza dei fili d\u2019erba sia arrivata almeno a 10 cm prima di tagliare<\/strong>, ma prima ancora si deve concimare (siamo in primavera o autunno - vedi l\u2019articolo \u201cIl prato perfetto: Come fare per avere un bel prato?<\/a><\/span>\u201d) ed aspettare una settimana.<\/p>\r\n

Interrompere l\u2019irrigazione 3 giorni prima del taglio<\/strong> e non tagliare pi\u00f9 di 1\/3 come gi\u00e0 detto sopra. Se si vuole raggiungere l\u2019altezza del prato di 5 cm, per esempio, si taglier\u00e0 ogni 10-15 giorni di 1\/3 cos\u00ec da raggiungere per l\u2019estate l\u2019altezza desiderata.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

Per amor di trasparenza, vi informo che pi\u00f9 desiderate un prato basso pi\u00f9 lo dovrete tagliare. Per dare una grandezza di riferimento: un prato di 4 cm richiede 30 tagli l\u2019anno.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

Tengo anche a far presente che un prato pi\u00f9 alto - 10 cm - preserver\u00e0 meglio l\u2019umidit\u00e0 del terreno: informazione utile nelle zone pi\u00f9 calde.<\/p>\r\n

Taglio di un prato appena seminato: cosa evitare e a cosa prestare attenzione<\/h2>\r\n

Per terminare il discorso sul prato nuovo devo informarvi che non si fa il taglio mulching.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

Ma cos\u2019\u00e8 il taglio mulching?<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\u00c8 quel tipo di taglio che lascia sul terreno i residui dell\u2019erba tagliata.<\/p>\r\n

In pratica, se avete il tagliaerba con il serbatoio di raccolta non state facendo un taglio mulching. Questo tipo di taglio per\u00f2 va bene se l\u2019erba residua viene sminuzzata molto piccola e rilasciata sul terreno in modo distribuito. I residui faranno da concime.<\/p>\r\n

Quando per\u00f2 si vedono i mucchietti di erba residua sui prati questo non \u00e8 un buon risultato e vanno rimossi con il rastrello - o con apposito arieggiatore. Questi mucchietti infatti, dopo la pioggia, creano delle zone di stagnazione dell\u2019acqua che possono far ammalare, soffocare o annegare l\u2019erba sottostante (effetto feltro).<\/p>\r\n

Consigli e suggerimenti per il taglio dell'erba<\/h2>\r\n

In un mondo perfetto vorrei anche segnalare gli orari migliori in cui tagliare il prato e spero di non generare insulti o profondi sensi di colpa per ci\u00f2 che ho gi\u00e0 scritto.<\/p>\r\n

Sarebbe meglio evitare le ore pi\u00f9 calde per non stressare le piante pi\u00f9 di quanto gi\u00e0 non lo siano per il caldo.<\/p>\r\n

La sera viene consigliata maggiormente su internet e mi trovo ad appoggiare tale suggerimento soprattutto se abbiamo impostato l\u2019irrigazione di notte.<\/p>\r\n
