Laurus nobilis<\/strong>, known as laurel<\/strong>, is a shrub or small evergreen tree of the Lauraceae family, native to the Mediterranean basin. It reaches a height of 6-10 meters, with a dense and conical crown. The leaves are elliptical, leathery, 6-10 cm long, shiny dark green above and lighter underneath. It blooms between March and April with small yellowish flowers gathered in axillary umbels. The fruits are shiny black berries when ripe, containing a reddish ovate seed. The leaves and essence have the ability to repel cockroaches.<\/h5>\n

mesophilic species, <\/span> lives in hot-humid climates. Its preferred habitat is that of fresh, sunny valleys, it prefers deep soils rich in nutrients. It tolerates the cold well <\/span>but not the prolonged frosts. It also tolerates coastal and marine environments well.<\/p>\n
