Christ&#8217;s crown plant is native to tropical and subtropical regions, where the average temperature is between 20 and 38 \u2103.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Environment:<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>its natural habitat includes dry bushes, rocky areas and forest habitats. The plant prefers warm temperatures and does not tolerate cold temperatures well. In colder seasons, it is recommended to keep the temperature between 18 and 24\u2103 to help the plant adapt.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Evergreen or deciduous:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>deciduous<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Toxicity: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Although it is a popular houseplant, Christ&#8217;s Crown is highly poisonous, with ingestion of any part causing moderate toxicity. Contact with eyes may cause puffiness and swelling, and contact with skin will likely lead to dermatitis. Poisoning by ingestion can cause irritation and blistering of the mouth and throat, vomiting and abdominal pain. If the sap is ingested, it can cause temporary blindness. Fleshy and succulent, erect, branched, thorny. The thorns can even reach 5 cm<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Property:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>In the past they tried to use it for treatment, but then it wasn&#8217;t used anymore probably because it didn&#8217;t bring any benefit.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Perfume: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>light<\/p>\n<h3><strong>NEED<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Maintenance: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Low.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Light Exposure:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Full sun. La pianta preferisce le temperature calde e non tollera bene le temperature fredde. Da noi pi\u00f9 facilmente i 60 cm.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Portamento:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>eretto, con molte ramificazioni che mostrano delle grosse spine acuminate.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Foglia:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>lanceolate di colore verde brillante che durante l\u2019inverno vengono perse.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Fiore:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>A forma di farfalla, il piccolo fiore \u00e8 composto da due petali, quindi forma un piccolo grappolo, verde in estate e rosso in inverno<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Fioritura:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>pu\u00f2 fiorire tutto l'anno, anche in inverno, se ha molta luce e temperature fresche ma non fredde.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Frutto:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>composto da tre parti che espellono i semi al momento della maturit\u00e0<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Fusto: <\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>ha pi\u00f9 fusti semi-legnosi (lignificati solo in esemplari molto vecchi e solo in prossimit\u00e0 del suolo) dalla corteccia grigiastra che, ergendosi e ramificandosi ripetutamente, conferiscono alla pianta una forma piuttosto regolare e compatta. Carnoso e succulento, eretto, ramificato, spinoso. Le spine possono raggiungere anche i 5 cm<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Propriet\u00e0:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>In passato hanno tentato di usarla per curare, ma poi non lo \u00e8 stata pi\u00f9 probabilmente perch\u00e8 non ha portato giovamento.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Profumo: <\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>leggero<\/p>\r\n<h3><strong>NECESSIT\u00c0<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<h4><strong>Manutenzione: <\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>Bassa.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Esposizione alla luce:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>Pieno sole. Ama il sole e i climi caldi; non tollera il gelo intenso e va tenuta al riparo da correnti d\u2019aria fredda.<br \/>In casa preferisce molta luce e clima fresco; in balcone e giardino pu\u00f2 vivere bene anche in posizioni soleggiate.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Bisogno di acqua:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>Non teme l\u2019afa estiva e ha resistenza alla siccit\u00e0, anche se la carenza di acqua pu\u00f2 far cadere i fiori e le foglie, che si riformano quando le radici ritrovano sufficiente umidit\u00e0.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Propagazione: <\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>seme e talea<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Malattie:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>le piante possono essere suscettibili agli attacchi di afidi e cocciniglie, vanno regolarmente controllate ed eventualmente trattate con un insetticida naturale o alcol isopropilico, da applicare con un batuffolo di cotone. Come e pi\u00f9 di altre piante non sopporta il ristagno d\u2019acqua. Se si notano segni di marciume, \u00e8 bene ridurre l\u2019irrigazione e controllare se sia necessario cambiare il terreno per migliorare il drenaggio.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Potatura:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>\u00c8 importante per mantenere la pianta in salute e favorire una crescita rigogliosa. Rimuovete i rami vecchi o morti e qualsiasi fiore appassito, per stimolare nuove fioriture.
