GARDEN POSTCARDS
WELCOME TO THE PAST
Sometimes looking at the past prepares us better for the future.
Have you ever seen black and white postcards of public gardens in your city taken a hundred years ago? and find yourself saying…uhh how different she was, almost unrecognizable. Maybe the fountain is the same or your house is still on the corner of that street.
In short, a look at the past stimulates feelings and sweetens memories, it brings a tear or a smile from us and it is as if it restarts us towards the future.

LIEBIG PICTURE CARDS: ADVERTISING AND CULTURE
The Liebig picture cards were a series of picture cards published by Liebig between 1872 and 1975. They were mostly composed of six images linked by the common topic.
In addition to advertising their products, they also included a cultural element for people who did not have much opportunity to come into contact with the general culture.
Mondo del Giardino is interested in garden postcards series and we have tracked down some of them.
SERIES: STYLES OF GARDENS
Our first tour starts from the Garden Styles series. The series is 1336 from 1936. On the back of the figurine an explanation is given of what they meant by this Garden Style and, given its age, it is also a historical document of how it was told, interpreted and perceived in the 1940s in Italy.
POSTCARDS OF ITALIAN GARDENS
CITY PUBLIC SPACES
Looking at black and white or hand-colored garden postcards from your city brings to mind many memories. Maybe we played among those plants, in those green spaces, or crossed them to go to school.
The memory of our youth has that bitter-sweet flavor that revives the sweetness and love for our countries of origin perhaps abandoned by force majeure.
Mondo del Giardino is interested in cultivating this memory as well as the history of the green spaces that have been and are so important in our country.
